Life doesn’t have to be hard if we plan ahead. It’s in the not planning and the “going with the flow” that often see us washed away with the current close to burnout.
If we want to get things done, if we want to be more successful and happy with our lives, then we have to learn to outsmart ourselves, and make life easier for ourselves. We know our weaknesses and our struggles, we knownwhere we fall down daily, so let’s ask ourselves regularly, ’how can I tweak my Environment To Maximize Efficiency And Productivity?’ Some of the tweaks I made this year…
- Airplane Mode– My phone goes on airplane mode a couple of times a day, so I can get high level tasks done. Usually the first 90 minutes of the morning. There are so many solicitations in our time. We have to create boundaries for ourselves to ensure we’re able to focus.
- Use Voicemail– I don’t answer my phone EVER…. WHY? Because my day is planned out in advance and I don’t want interruptions, if it’s that important they’ll leave a voicemail (I have delegated times to return calls.)
- Anchor Tasks– I never used to go to the gym, but now I anchor it with the school run, I’ll ensure I wear my gym stuff all day on gym days, and I’ll leave 40mins earlier to collect the kids so I can squeeze in a 30 min gym session. I haven’t missed one in weeks!
In order to succeed, we need to be persistent and relentless, not flawless. Perfection is only something to strive for, not to attain. So lets all look for ways to get sharper, smarter and to simply and easily #turnitup. If you want to learn my top productivity hacks and how you can be unstoppable in everything you do click here…
